How to use

It is important that with each product from Mac Coltellerie that it is used for it’s own function (sub, hunting, fishing, rescue, etc.). Doing so avoids dangerous development. Although our product responds to all the necessary qualifications of security, when in use and not, there still remains the real risk of cutting capability. The object therefore must be kept away from children and not left in public places.

Maintenance

After usage (especially in salt water), always rinse the knife (and sheath) with abundant sweet water, assuring that every trace of salt on the blade and sheath has been removed. Dry the blade well, being careful not to hurt yourself, we advise you also to lubricate with a little silicone spray or similar. It is important to always maintain the blade well sharpened. Please note that a “blade” with an unsharpened edge always requires a major application of force on it and to resharpen a knife with a very consumed edge is a complicated operation to carry out alone.
In case you must restore the sharpeningof the knife you can use flat stones (natural or synthetic) and/or diamonded plaques. Depending on what type of operation must be carried out, select a type of grain: a course grain to eliminate “waviness” of the edge, while a fine grain to restore the cutting capability. If the edge is seriously damaged, we recommend you to bring the knife to a professional knife-grinder. All this care will permit you to achieve an excellent main tenance of your knife in the future.

Disposal

Once the product cannot be used anymore, it must not be abandoned in the ambient but depostited in special public storeage premises, to abide by the normal dispositions in forced. The materials that make up our product are not classified, at the moment that they are placed in circulation, with characteristics of toxic or harmful wastes. Make sure that the product, even after its deterioration by one’s use, maintains a certain degree of danger and should not be abandoned.
